Oh, hey! I'm Bec Climie, and I'm the Australia Post contractor for mail service 156, the Julia Creek - Kynuna - McKinlay roadside mail delivery.
I've been doing the mail run for six years, and have covered approximately 300,000kms on the same 600km loop. And I absolutely love it!
I have made my home in Julia Creek, Queensland. Look at a map of Qld, pick out the middle of nowhere, and I'm pretty close to there! It's a great little town, but it's community of people are what really sets it apart. There is never a dull moment.
From small paddocks and four seasons to wide open spaces and 'the wet', I may have changed states but I still love living in the country.

I grew up in the Great Southern of Western Australia, on a sheep farm at Cranbrook. In a former life I was a journalist, working for rural publications in WA, which I guess is how I ended up back here many years later creating a podcast!
More Than Mail has been ticking away in the back of my mind for a few years. And I figured 2023 was the perfect year to launch, because why not?
There are stories every where I look, not always big, life changing stories, but stories that get to the heart of why I love living 'out back'. There are so many warm and funny stories. And a few exploring the challenges too. But it's all these stories that make this place home.
Let me take you on an adventure, and see why I, and my guests, genuinely love living here.
